Guild Leaders
After getting some feedback from the GW staff, they suggested posting my suggestion on a forum to get players opinions. My question/suggestion to the GW staff was, I asked if it was possible in the guild interface to allow there to be a sort of "council" group incharge of the guild oppose to the leader slot that is currently used. My guild is run by the council system, we dont think anyone should have any more power over the others. And when we found that the guild system in the game uses the title leader, it automaticaly caused some problems. Not necessarily that everyone wanted to be the leader, just that it put us in a position where someone had the title and could sometimes make things a bit harder, cause titles often have other effects on things. It may just be an issue my guild and I need to sort through. But I would like all of your input.
Thank you. Last edited by Empty_Quiver; Mar 29, 2005 at 02:56 AM // 02:56.. |

leader rotation
How about all the guild members get together and agree on a set time for a person to be a leader then you vote. All who want to be the next leader have to have an election. you could even say that the leader has to step down to give all a turn. That way one person is not the boss. I don't know if it will work for you but in my Guild the leader does not have any more power over all the other members he just was the first member. we all just play the game and have fun. Hope I could help, just spitballing so dont talk any of this personaly.

Not quite the reply I was hoping for but, am open to all. I just thought it would help unity to an extent. I guess the best test of unity would be to be able to rotate. But we already have so much going on, being a new guild and all. I dont want to have to keep up with whos turn it is, but then anyone can say just let one person be. Its just hard to keep the unity for a new guild, but we all live in the same town. So it can help, just I was hoping others saw it my way, but is probably too much trouble for the staff at GW. But ty for the suggestion still.

I definitly would like this option. My guild (and many others) are also run by a council and while we don't seem to have a problem with the current system, other guilds may, and we might in the future. I don't really see any reasons why this shouldn't be in the game.

These option will allows any Guild to choose the control level of the Guild in questiong:
Option 1 Signifies Leader ( Optional by Vote ) Option 2 Signifies Joint Leaders ( Specify Number of Leaders ) Option 3 Signifies Council ( Specify Number on Council Members ) Option 4 Signifies Equal Council ( All Members Equal ) Alternative Guild Members Options: This would free up the first 3 Options making them more flexible. (Note: The Guild Members option can be implemented now by the support of the Guild Members.) Guild Memebers Options: Option 1 Leader(s) or Council make all discissions and chooses path of Guild (No Guild Members have a say.) Option 2 Memebers offer suggestions and Leader(s) or Council chooses. Option 3 Leader(s) or Council make suggestions and Memebers chooses Option 4 Leader(s), Council, & Members make suggestions and chooses together. (This is a joint effort with a leadership that is a support base.) This is probobly the most options I can come up with. Someone might be able to refine this list, BUT, if they do it will limit & restrict the optional choice, unless that is the intent. |

That was a great list, I just would love an alternate to one leader. If they allowed that much of a choise I think it would to wonders for many guilds. I am hoping enough people see it that way too. Because why change a game because one person has some issues with something?

would you set this up when you start the Guild or could it be changd at will or both. Also would you need a majoity to change. I like the idea. hope it gets put into the game.

i think the guild is registered to the account of the person who is creating the guild so i see no way you are going to get around it
you could simply agree that the nominal listed *figurehead* is that in fact and set up your own ruling council best idea under the circumstances i have |

heh well our guild was pretty much a monarchy me and my friend were both competing to be leader. he pretty much put all of us down to a memeber and stuff then he gave me leadership to buy the guild hall . then i stole the leadership so now im the leader. isnt when everyones equal = communist? nvm but well it would be nice if there could be a few extra leaders or co leaders or somthing more than just 3 ranks

Anything that keeps folks from being stuck in a guild with NO leader and unable to do anything about it is OK by me.
